I dream to be top 100 professional tennis player. It's a huge challenge, but with your help I believe I can!
Auckland
My dream is to become professional tennis player,to compete at top ATP events and represent my country.
The road to success is extremely difficult because tennis is the second most popular sport in the world and when you start playing professionally you are up against another 2000 hungry for success players.
The cost is impossible for most families without the support of association or sponsors.
The usual pathway for NZ players is US college scholarship for 4 years which provides very high level of training but also puts your tennis career on hold.
I am ready to go for it now.
With your help I would like to play at least 10 Futures events in the USA,Europe and Asia from May to the end of August and improve my game and my ATP ranking.
This is what the top Australian and European Juniors are doing supported by their associations.
The money raised from this page will be used for flights, accommodation, entry fees, restringing rackets, tennis shoes.
My achievements so far:
*National champion 12's and 16's
*Singles champion - Rod Laver Junior International in Australia
*Finalist - Waikato International Grade 4 ITF
*Oceania Champion - Grade 2 ITF - 2013 in FIJI
*Doubles Champion of Grade 1 ITF in the Philippines 2014
*Doubles Finalist in Grade 1 ITF in Japan 2013
*Qualified for Australian open Juniors 2014
*Qualified for 5 Australian futures man's events and earned 3 ATP points in Cairns 2013 ,Wollongong 2014, Adelaide 2015
* Played Number 1 for Remuera Caro Ball team 2013 and 2014
*Represented NZ at the Junior Davis Cup in 2012 and 2013 and Australian Nationals 12's and 14's
*The highest Internationally ranked NZ Junior-2013, 2014
Last year I had to make important decision:
To accept US college tennis scholarship or to continue playing on the professional tennis Circuit and try the "impossible"
The professional ATP tour is very different from the junior ITF circuit. It requires huge financial commitment which not many families can handle.
With your help I will be able to continue chasing my dream and climb up the ATP rankings.
I hope that one day I can compete at a Grand Slam and make everyone proud.
I hope I can inspire young tennis players to keep trying and grinding and never give up even when everything looks out of reach.
Tennis is a beautiful and very difficult game game and I love it !!
Thanks for reading my page.
Alex
I am 18 years old tennis player from Auckland. I started playing tennis when I was 6 and all my life has been around tennis courts ever since.
Main draw in Columbia 13 May 2015
Lost 6/3 6/3 today after qualifying for the main draw to the number 3 seed, but I think I played OK!
"For example today the match was very fisical because of the intensity of Caio Zampieri.
.. also mentaly the other guy was more calm in the important moments"
