Amie needs your help to purchase a Disability Van
Auckland
Amie Needs your Help:
Amie is a beautiful, happy, fun-loving 5 year old who loves school and going on holiday and outings with her family. She loves spending time with her big sister Micaela and her Mum and Dad, Chris and Andrea are very proud of what Amie has achieved against all the odds
You see, Amie lives with severe disabilities. She can’t walk, talk, sit or hold her head up, is fed through a tube and is vision impaired.
Amie has a severe form of a rare KCNQ2 de novo gene mutation which has caused epileptic encephalopathy, global developmental delay, cortical vision impairment, re-current respiratory infections and whole lot of other life challenges that she and her family grapple with every day.
“Amie is growing up fast and at 17.5kg, she is too heavy for me to lift in and out of her car seat anymore “ says Andrea, her Mum.
“Her life is challenging enough already and transporting her to the multiple hospital visits and doctor appointments with her wheelchair is just not practical with a regular family car anymore.” she says.
Amie and her family are raising the money to buy a disability van.
And that’s where you come in.
The Cuthbertson family need $20,000 to purchase a set of wheels that, added to the four on Amie’s wheelchair, will change her life and give Amie more freedom. Having a disability van for her transport needs would give Amie a chance to enjoy the things we all take for granted: going to the shops, trips to the beach, holidays and day trips.
Please donate to make this dream come true for Amie and her family.
I am Amie's mother and we are trying to raise funds to buy a disability van to help us transport Amie.
Thank you to all those who have donated. 29 July 2015
