We all want the best for our children, I know times are tough at the moment but sometimes we need to ask for help
Nationwide
As parents we all love the photos of our children smiling and happy. As they grow up, we delight in seeing them change and grow and develop into confident teens.
But for some children it isn’t so easy, as they get older their bodies don’t always develop the way they should and it causes long term problems that affect their health, well being & happiness. Suddenly the future doesn’t look so bright. In my child’s case, as she has grown, her jaws have gone out of alignment causing a range of dental related problems involving discomfort, facial changes and taking away her smile.
My happy, carefree girl who loved to smile now hides her face from the camera and won’t be photographed unless she covers her mouth with her hand. For the range of problems to be corrected, my girl needs surgery, very, very expensive Maxillofacial surgery ($30, 000) to expand her upper jaw and bring her lower jaw forward in an 8 hour operation involving a number of plates and screws.
She suffers breathing problems, tooth pain, chewing problems and additional dental treatments as her teeth are starting to erode and will need multiple extractions. The surgery will improve her facial profile and she will be more confident. Without surgery she is going to end up with false teeth at a young age.
As a single parent of two school aged children I just cannot afford to pay the fees to get this work done. I have been saving for the braces but was not expecting to have to come up with money for expensive surgery in addition to the braces.
All I want is for my girl to face the future with confidence. I ask you donate what you can to make this possible.
