Cresina's Jogging Team

In September 2014 we lost our beautiful friend Cresina Jane Tillman to cancer.

Crenie, Creen Box or just Box as she was affectionately known holds a special place in our hearts and memories. Her cheeky smile, quick wit and an infectious laugh could bring a smile to your face no matter how good or bad your day had been.

In her short 26 years on this earth Crenie had a bigger impact on our lives than that number alone could ever portray. She was truly a gem!

Crenies fight against a vary rare form of cancer lasted almost two years, and through out that whole time her positive attitude, determination and openness to discuss what she was going through was an inspiration to us all.

To honour Crenie's memory a group consisting of her family and friends has entered a team in the 2015 Wellington Round the Bays. The members of Cresina's Jogging Team or CJT will be competing in events ranging from the 6.5 km fun run up to the Half Marathon.

We know that what Cresina went through was incredibly tough so we have figured that no matter how hard this run will be it will a cake walk in comparison.

When we decided to enter the Wellington Round the Bays we had no intention to utilise this as a fund raiser, however after discussing this we belive that it is a great opportunity to raise money for a good cause.

As such we will be donating all the money raised from this event to the Cancer Society of New Zealand. The Cancer Society is a wonderful charity that provides support to not only those with cancer but also to those whose lives have been effected by cancer. The Cancer Society also provides valuable funding for cancer research programs every year.

So far we have 15 participants in Cresina's Jogging Team. Each participant has paid an entry fee of $75 and paid $35 for a singlet which totals $1,650. So it is not unreasonable to think that we can therefore raise at least $1,650 for the Cancer Society.

So come on guys & girls, dig deep into those pockets, look underneath those couch cushions and raid the piggy bank and help us raise funds in for a great cause that I'm sure Cresina would be proud of.
