Destiny is our fighter. She is just starting her second battle with cancer at only 2 years old. Destiny is the youngest of 5 children.
Otago
Destiny was born on the 16th of October 2013. A perfect beautiful healthy baby girl. Destiny grew like any other normal girl but the age of 8 months Destiny's leg movement had started to decrease and within days, stopped completely and we noticed there was an issue. We did not expect the news we were about to receive. After investigating Destiny's legs and further tests to see what was going on, a chest x-ray confirmed destiny had a Neuroblastoma tumor in her chest. We had to give up everything and fly out of Dunedin to "CHOC" in Christchurch hospital. We discovered her tumor had spread into her spinal chord and that explained her leg movement. So we started DESTINYS FIGHT FOR LIFE. Destiny fought a huge battle and come out on top with 9 months in and out of hospital. She seemed to have defeated this horrible disease. Unfortunately 6 months post chemo Destiny relapsed. She is now two years old and just finished her First CYCLE of CHEMOTHERAPY. Round two for our baby girl.
This is Her story. (See Video, An original song written for her by her Uncle. Video put together by Parents)
Destiny is full of love and even through the hardest of times she has managed to keep her smile. She is a baby sister to 4 sibling's and she inspires them, she inspires us all!!! Destiny had come out on top against the odd's before and we pray that she does it again. xxxx
I am Destiny's dad Kent Te Ahuru. My partner is Pri-Anne Te Moananui, mother to our children. I also have had my own battle with cancer when i was 19 year's old. I am now 26 and was discharged from oncology 2 years ago. I never expected to watch my daughter go through this and it took a BIG impact on me personally.

HEllo all. DESTINY is doing well. She has still got a tumour in her chest/spine area. Chemo was stopped in december because it was no longer working. We arr unable to achieve a safe removal of the tumour that would benifit Destiny.. so surgury is.not an option. Radiation is also not an option, because it could potentially ben her spine. We are on a high does vitiman a drug that is suposed to mature the remaining cells in her tumour qnd then with.hope it will stop growing. We wont know if it working till next mri in april. This medicine is 2 weeks on 2 weeks off for 6 months. It peels off all the skin on her body and cracks her lips. Not nice stuff. We hoping it benifits Destiny. THANKS FOR READING xxxx love to all Destiny's supporters.
