We never like to see anyone hurt doing what they love and this has been devastating for Sean and his family. Please help him out.

Sadly Sean Gardner a member of SRA (Ski Racing Australia) sustained multiple critical injuries in New Zealand whilst training for the NZ Bridge to Bridge Ski race last weekend. These included a broken neck – C1 & C2, which required 6 hours of emergency surgery. This type of accident is every ski-racers nightmare but for Sean and Fiona this is now their reality, and unfortunately one that is not going to ever go away. As we set up this page we still do not have a clear picture of all the injuries yet.
While Sean is making progress , his future means he will need to begin the long road of rehabilitation in a spinal unit. It is unsure where this will be but likely begin in Auckland. It is integral for Sean’s recovery that Fiona’s physical presence remains close to Sean, and she is part of his rehabilitation team as their home, family and friends are in Australia. The impact is far reaching to both Sean and Fiona’s and their families.
I organise the event that Sean was training for when sustained the injury.
The funds will be used to offset living costs while neither of them are working. This will enable them both to be able to focus on the rehabilitation and recovery instead of worrying about the negative financial impact this accident has had.
