Help Get Damo Home

Hey all i am doing this for my strong,brave and humble son Damien Walters, Who hasnt had the greatest last 5years. He had just turned 18 (2010) and full of life. Saddly a week later he was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukeamia and saddly had days to live if he didnt have treatment (chemo x4 rounds and a bone marrow transplant) It was hell but he got through it. Defying all the odds they gave him, he pulled through.. but since a year after his transplant things have gone down hill and his body is rejecting the doner morrow giving him chronic graft versus host disease (GvHD) Which he indures pain everyday all over his body, Baddly affecting his eyes .kidneys . major joints. the list goes on.. altho he wakes everyday praying things will get better and always has a big smile. the last 5years have been hell for him . At the moment the DHB (Dunedin hospital Board) are paying for him to have treatment in Melbourne at the Peter Mac Cancer Centre that could help change his life. He will have to be there 3 months and will be there for at least the next 5 months. Their accomdation is payed for thankfully. But he also have all bills from home rent ect and still having living cost being there and this has been quite stressfull, And very hard on him but he has to do this as he needs it all so desperately To hopefuly prolong his chances. So it has become very hard for him to save money while hes there. And soon him and his parter will b able to come home for a week break!! Which he is so desperately needing special hugs from his loved ones and fur babies here at home.. To Boost his spirits :) to get through this. But airfares for him and his partner are very expensive. so please if you are able to help please do. anything helps. And please if you cant help atleast have Damien in your thoughts today . With hope he will get through all of this :)

Funding will be used for costs while he is away in Melbourne getting treatment at the Peter Mac cancer treatment centre. Also to get him home for a break soon as we miss him so dearly.
