This is for a mum of five, the youngest 7yrs looking for hope and a chance to fulfil her dream while battling her second round of cancer.
Canterbury
Sherrin is a mum to five amazing kids ranging from 21-7yrs of age. She has coached their rugby basketball and horse ridding teams for years supporting her children with all their dreams ans aspirations. Sherrin has helped under privileged and children in need for many years from making extra lunches for her husband to take to school to taking them into her home. But sadly she was diagnosed with cancer of the gall bladder during the Christchurch earthquakes. She had her gall bladder removed and given treatment. On 9th Nov 2013 her husband had a major horse accident putting him in hospital and told he may never walk again. But with her help and determination to help he got out of the wheel chair and walks aided. While focusing on her husband she went to the doctor as she was feeling unwell. She was then told she had a rare form of cervical cancer which can not be picked up by smears. It has spread to her pelvis and beyond her uterus. They have put her on an intensive everyday radiation and chemo therapy treatment plan calling it a one hit wonder as it will work or not. But if it does it will give her another 5-10yrs.
With all the set backs her and her husbands savings and dream of having a place for their kids to ride their horses has been sucked up into the black hole of medical bills etc.
Sherrin gets up at 5am with her children and gets ready to make the long trip into hospital everyday for treatment at 7.30am and have her children at school. The battle is a struggle which is beyond comprehension for a mother. But she keeps fighting. She just needs a little help to see hope and see a start to her dream to support her amazing children. Who love her so much.
