Trying to raise money for unfunded treatment for my husband who was diagnosed with bowel cancer almost 1 year ago.

Funds used to date (17/11/15): $17,000
I have started this page with my children to raise money for my husband who was diagnosed with bowel cancer which had spread to his liver almost 1 year ago. He has been so strong the past year undergoing eleven rounds of chemotherapy all while working full time as a clinical pharmacist. He was told that it looks like the treatment is becoming resistant so he has to switch to one which isn't funded meaning it costs $8,000 per cycle (needing a minimum of 10 cycles), plus a specific radiotherapy for the liver metastases which costs around $40,000 and to add on to that the doctors have discovered a tumor on a disc in his spinal cord which means he also has to have surgery (this week) followed by radiation. The new treatment needs to be started this month. Despite all of this he still has a smile on his face and is staying strong for us and himself. My husband has been generous all his life (he gave money to 5 struggling families for 5 years anonymously) and never asks for help. With the upcoming surgery he won't be able to work for a while and we will need to make changes around the house to help him recover. We are trying to raise as much as we can, we will need help to get to the target so we can pay for the treatment he needs.

I would like to say thank you to everyone for the support that you have given our family. We regret to inform you that our beloved father and husband passed away last month. Dad was an amazing person and will always be remembered by those who were lucky enough to know him or even meet him. He will forever be in our hearts and in our minds. We love you Dad.
