Help to keep our family afloat while Jason suffers terrible GVHD from Leukaemia and Amy has to look after him and kids and had to stop work.
Auckland
Jason was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (A.L.L) in July 2012. Months of chemo and we were lucky enough for a stem cell transplant match and transplant took place in December 2012.
This was meant to make life better, easier, more livable for Jason. Instead it created more illness (severe chronic graft vs host disease -GVHD). More pain. More disability and more financial strain and stress which has had Amy develop epilepsy and can no longer drive Jace to his appointments etc.
Jason has lost alot of skin, muscle loss and pain, balance issues, continual trips to hospital, diabetes complications, shadow on frontal lobe of brain, perforated eyeball, complications in remaining eye and much more.
Amy (myself) can no longer work in order to provide care for Jason and to look after our children aged 14 and 10
Govt care is minimal. Hospital experiences are confusing and stressful and often creates additional pain for a man who has already been in daily pain for leading up to 4 yrs.
ANY help you can provide is appreciated so very much more than i can express in words.
I am involved because I am Jasons wife who sees him in this pain, communicates with doctors, keeps housing and living costs as low as possible to live within our minimal govt assistance means with savings extinct.
I am happy to answer any questions you have about Jason's health, the diseases themselves, our coping skills or even carers support.
