Help us to make our Mums last moments with us precious and care free.
Nationwide
Our family has recently been dealt a bad card in life.
Our wonderful, loving Mother has just been diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy, or MSA. It's a progressive neurological disorder that is similar to Parkinson's disease in many ways, and it is terminal. It is caused by degeneration of nerve cells in several (or multiple) areas of the brain which can result in problems with movement, balance and automatic functions. With a prognosis of 10-12 years, the neurologists believe Mum has already had MSA for at least 8 years, so she only has about 2-4 years left with us, and she will only continue to get worse.
Mum's quality of life is so important to us and our family. She has a very short time left on this world, and we want to give her the best possible time we can, so she can enjoy what little quality time she has left without the worries of money.
We want to help her pay for her wedding to her loving, supportive girlfriend Coral in January 2015. We want to help pay for her medical expenses and we want to help pay for her funeral.
To do this we need the help of our fellow kiwis.
Any little bit helps, we know times are tough for everyone in this world at the moment but if you could spare anything to help our Mum through her Journey we would be forever grateful.
Much Love, The Street Sisters. xx
Mums new wheels 5 January 2015
Hey Peeps!
This is a bit of a late posted update but still a very important and exciting one!
Your generous donations have allowed us to purchase our Mum a rad new mobility scooter!
This will help Mum gain some of her independence back, giving her the freedom to go down to the beach, to the shops and to do little day to day things that we take for granted.
People with MSA loose their ability to walk properly, their balance and mobility are greatly affected making walking and getting around difficult.
Thank you all you amazing people.
Love,
The Street Sisters. xx
