Huds loves to swim, he needs a specially designed all terrain wheelchair that can roll over beach sand and into the water.
Southland
Swimming is pure pleasure for Hudson, the weightlessness and freedom and the waves and sharing fun times with friends. Huds has severe cerebral palsy and has grown up, loving the outdoors and adventure and his family and friends now find it hard to get him into the water, he's too heavy to lift and his complex seating needs mean standard wheelchairs don't suit him. A hippocampe wheelchair will allow him to roll over the beach sand and into the water at his local beach in Bluff or wherever else since he does love to travel. His local pool isnt accessible and others in the region don't have equipment so he can safely access to water but this chair will allow him to freedom to swim anywhere. Here's a link to a video of others using the hippocampe http://youtu.be/X30gAgitX34
Huds has grown up loving the outdoors, tramping, swimming, sailing, and even a bit of abseiling, but now he's 16 and over 50kg the logistics of accessing his hobbies safely has really meant he's been restricted on what he can do. We need to change that!

Thank you again for making this possible! We went out yesterday and had a great time at the beach, Huds loves it, I love it, it's fabulous and once we tweak a few seating issues and customise it a bit it will be perfect!
