In January 2015, 13 are going from Wellington, to visit our friend Piyal in India, who gives his all to improve other's lives.
Nationwide
Pastor Piyal based in Kolkata, India grew up in a little village, happy but destined to be illiterate. After discovering an envelope on the ground, and persuading a friend to write to the sender, Piyal was miraculously sponsored right through school by a lady in the UK.
Instead of choosing a trade or profession Piyal decided to multiply his gift and to school as many of the poorest children he can in the villages surrounding Kolkata. Each Christmas he, and the village churches, put on a Christmas chicken lunch in each of the villages (15 last year), to around 6000 children in total.
Piyal has invited a group from All Saints Hataitai/Kilbirnie to go and visit, to encourage his team who work teaching children, helping the poor around them and running sewing schools. We are self-funding our airfares, accommodation etc, but we will also provide a medical camp through local doctors in each village we visit, and we will help bring all the leaders together to share ideas, dreams and prayers for their people. Please help us to bless the villagers with supplies and medical treatment and to help the leaders to network, and be encouraged.
