Justice for Boy

Boy was so badly abused he only made it to 5 months old. We are Boy's voice, please help us ensure those responsible are held accountable.

Southland

They don't have a voice or a choice, they are up for re-homing at 8 weeks of age and taken from the safety of their animal families, so you would think the very least we can do, is make sure they go to a good home where they will be treated properly. Boy made it to 5 months of age, he was homed through the internet and went to a place where his food consisted of raw rice, scraps and a rotten piece of silver side. Boy was not vaccinated and ended up contacting parvo, but instead of getting Boy the treatment he needed, his owner tied him to a fence and kicked him to death, then threw him under a bush, but Boy didn't die. He was brought to us on the brink of death struggling to breath, foaming at the mouth, eyes rolled back in his head and having fits, he was taken to the after hours vet, so he could be released from his pain. He needed to be put to sleep asap, watching this little pup struggle was purely barbaric. We want to ensure that justice is done for Boy and for the immense fear and suffering he experienced in the last hours of his life. We can't stress enough for people to please, please check out the homes you are sending pups and dogs, cats, kittens, any animals to, you are their voice, you make the decisions for the rest of their lives. The pain and heartache we went through witnessing and helping Boy on this night was the worst case of animal abuse we have ever dealt with - but it's nothing in comparison to what Boy went through.

WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT?

We like to get our facts straight and gather all the evidence that we can prior to making a decision as to whether there is a case to answer, now you may say that we have nobody qualified to investigate an allegation of animal cruelty and all would agree with you that we have no warranted welfare officers, however we would suggest to you that it doesn’t take a welfare officer to determine that kicking a defenseless puppy to death is animal cruelty or not. As you may or may not be aware any citizen of New Zealand can bring a private prosecution against another for a provable breach of the law. This case was reported to the authorities who could have done something about it a day before the pup died and didn’t, therefore Furever Homes as an animal rescue organisation is going to pursue this case as a private prosecution via a barrister and are at present gathering the final pieces of evidence. We will give Boy a voice and a chance to speak, a chance to maybe in some way stop this happening to other innocent pups and other dogs that are known to be living in unacceptable situations.

About us

Our mission is to re-home dogs, cats and the occasional horse that need a second chance, into loving homes, where they can live the rest of their lives in a safe, caring environment.

Furever homes is a registered charity.

Charity registration number CC50424.

Despite being based in Invercargill we operate nationwide, working with many councils throughout New Zealand to get the best outcome for the animal.

Volunteers are responsible for running Furever Homes where a lot of the time expenses are paid for directly from their own pockets along with the great assistance provided by supporters.

There has been many dogs & cats rescued, rehomed and saved from destruction by Furever Homes with great foster carers taking them on until homes are found.

Along with this there has been a great number of lost or found pets returned home through the very large following Furever Homes has gained.
