Help OATS Intermediate Robotics represent New Zealand at the VEX IQ World Championships in Kentucky, USA.
Bay of Plenty
We are a group of nine students from the Otumoetai Intermediate School Robotics club, going to represent New Zealand at the VEX IQ world championship in Kentucky, USA, April 2015.
The students of OATS Intermediate Robotics have put a huge amount of effort into their Robotics over the last few years. In December 2014 they competed at the VEX IQ Robotics, New Zealand, National Championship. OATS Intermediate Robotics won the nationals and are now working hard on preparing for the worlds.
The VEX IQ Highrise challenge involves teams working in a variety of disciplines to score as many points as possible. Teams have to move blocks of varying colours, from one end of the course to the other and then stack these. Students use both remote control and autonomous programming.
VEX IQ involves students learning many skills that are directly transferable to the real world. They include engineering, coding, mathematical problem solving, teamwork, science and collaboration - to name just a few.
We need your help to secure these hard working students a trip to the USA, where they can compete to become world champs!
