Help us appeal the Licensing Committee decision to grant a further liquor license in Onerahi
Northland
The Whangarei District Licensing Committee granted a license for yet another alcohol outlet in Onerahi.
This was in spite of receiving 570 objections, more than 200 people at a public meeting, a community march, and a petition which has gathered hundreds of signatures so far.
We don't want to see more alcohol-related harm happening in our community. There's three off-license premises in Onerahi already.
A group of concerned Onerahi residents has lodged an appeal to be heard by the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority (ARLA), which is based in Wellington. At this stage the date for the appeal to be heard is not known, and the group of Onerahi residents appealing this decision on behalf of our wider community (we call ourselves the 'Onerahi Alcohol Harm Minimisation Group'), has a lot of work to do to prepare its case for the ARLA hearing.
We want to help see the decision of the Whangarei District Licensing Committee decision. So we need your help to cover the costs of appealing that decision.
Onerahi Resource Centre is helping a group of Onerahi residents put together and fund the costs of appealing to the ARLA.
Onerahi Resource Centre Trust is dedicated to helping out residents of Onerahi and surrounding areas in beautiful Whangarei.
