Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of people I now have my standing frame and scooter. Any donations will now go towards "living" in 2015
Nationwide
My original givealittle was to raise funds for a mobility scooter and a standing frame to help with my rehab. Both of these asks have been achieved and we are eternally grateful.
As Acc has now declined my case for medical misadventure it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep positive. If it wasnt for the fact that i had work protection insurance then we would have lost the house long ago. Unfortunately my insurance runs out soon so there will be nothing to stop the wolves knocking......
Any funds received will now go towards daily living-physio costs.
My Story....
18 months ago I was hospitalized with an MRSA infection in my spine. Long story short 4 months later I was discharged from Auckland Spinal Unit a paraplegic, with no improvement expected.
Due to the fact that I got "sick " and not "injured" I am not eligible for any ACC funds or help. Ministry of Health have helped with some funding for my vehicle conversion but any further assistance has been rejected as its deemed not “life changing”.
Well we disagree…
I attend physio 3 times a week and with the dedicated help and encouragement from my amazing Physiotherapist, I am slowly regaining some movement in my legs . With the help of a walking frame I am taking a few steps and improving weekly.
Donations would go toward purchasing a mobility scooter so I can get out and about and a specialized standing frame which my physiotherapist believes will aid my recovery further and faster.Any further donations will help towards the day to day problems we are facing with "living" costs.
Hopefully with your donations I can regain more of my independence and have a better quality of life.
We thank you in advance for any monies given.
