Last January our mother/ wife/ friend Lucy was diagnosed with stage 4 gallbladder cancer. This cancer is very rare and under researched therefore the public health system has nothing to offer apart from palliative care when it becomes too much. Our mother/ wife and friend is a fighter and is determined to see her 50th birthday and has taken it upon herself to undertake vitamin c treatment and private scans/ surgeries in order to save her life. As you can imagine these treatments carry a large financial load and we ask that you give a little in order to give our special person a little more life.
I am Lucy's daughter and want to help her battle this horrid disease.
An update from Mum. 29 January 2015
Since October I've been getting intravenous vitamin c twice a week. This requires driving to Tauranga, and sitting for several hours hooked up to an IV drip. It is quite costly, around $150 per session, and I'm on the maximum dose for my body weight.
I also take a wide variety of herbal supplements, all claiming to cure cancer or build up the immune system. I'm doing as much as I can with dietary good choices, avoiding sugar etc, and also avoiding chemicals as much as I can as well.
My most recent CT scan shows no new tumours, and although my blood tests are not so good, I'm hoping they may improve as I recover from the surgery and the vitamin c kicks in and works it's magic.
I'm so grateful for everyone that has donated to help with the costs of this treatment, it helps me so much to know I'm doing all I can to prolong my life, and not just passively sit and wait for the inevitable.
