Erin has been diagnosed with aggressive Breast Cancer at the age of 25. Please help support her throughout her chemo treatment
Canterbury
Many of you who choose to donate will already know Erin personally or know of her through others. You know that she is a wonderful intelligent person with a bright, confident personality who brings fun and love to anyone who has the privilege of having her in your lives.
Erin is 25 years old and was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer on 5th October, the day before we were to take a 2 week holiday to Japan. We immediately cancelled the trip so that her treatment could get under way as soon as possible. Since the diagnosis, Erin has undergone many stressful tests and scans to ensure she is able to withstand the long process of chemo and surgery.
Unfortunately these daily tests, needles and trips to see doctors and specialists have been very stressful and financially draining, along with dental work needing to be done before the start of chemo, resulting in an immediate root canal for Erin. These continuous appointments have interrupted Erin's work life and will continue to throughout chemo, resulting in a lack of basic funds to pay general rent and bills. Any funds raised would be a huge help towards these difficulties.
On the 20th November, Erin started chemo therapy and it is the start of a very slow and painful process to beat breast cancer and return to some form of normality that life will be after this long term illness.
Erin is being supported the best she can be at the moment by myself and her partner Keni, however the rest of her family live in Invercargill and they also need our support as they'd love to be here in person caring for Erin as she goes through chemo, unfortunately this to is a financial strain. With the Christmas and family time period approaching and only the beginning of the treatment cycle, having some quality time together at Christmas would be the families ultimate wish.
Donating to Erin's cause will help ease her mind of the day to day stresses of life and finances and give her the best chance of focusing all her energy on beating cancer.
If you would like to donate, please don't donate out of pity, but donate to Erin in support of fighting and beating this monstrosity we call cancer.
Thank you very much in advance,
Sheri, Family & Friends.

Erin's First Blog Post 26 November 2015
Well, it seems an appropriate time at the end of Breast Cancer Awareness month to publicly announce that at 25 years of age I have been diagnosed with an Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer.
I found out almost a month ago and the last month has been a whirlwind of appointments and blood tests...I have had more needles poked into me in the last month than I have in my whole life. I begin Chemo in mid November and I face 6 months of chemo, then surgery and then a further 9 months of drug therapy and possibly radiation treatment. Currently I am undergoing a very fast IVF treatment to harvest some eggs before chemo nukes my ovaries which involves scans every few days, injecting myself with hormones every night and currently feeling like my ovaries are on steroids and about to punch their way out of my stomach. On top of that I have a cold and a toothache so it's been hard to keep my head up these past few days.
I wanted to announce this publicly for a couple of reasons. Firstly I need everyone's support as I am bloody scared and it's going to become pretty obvious soon anyway when I start Chemo and go bald. Secondly, now that I have had some time to deal with this I want to use this as an opportunity to raise awareness that it isn't just older ladies who can be diagnosed with this...so to any of my friends and family (including the guys) please make sure you do a regular check, even if you are young.
Also I am very very thankful to be surrounded by so many loving, caring family and friends who have already helped me through the past month of madness, I can't possibly list everyone but a special thanks goes out to my amazing boyfriend Kenaniah who still manages to make me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world even on my worst days and my bestest friend in the whole wide world Sheri McConnell who is on hand everyday with juice, hugs, vitamins and is constantly organizing and sorting things out for me. Much love and a huge thank you to everyone else who has given me their support so far. Love to you all xx
