Kimberly's road to recovery 2015

Kimberly went to the doctor 19 months ago at age 24 having white spots on her tongue, a biopsy was done an it was clear. Herself an partner Mitch moved over to Australia to start their new life. She fell pregnant with her first baby Phelix. At 28 weeks pregnant she was then diagnosed with SCC (squamous cell carcinoma), in order to have the surgery an also their baby early they moved back to New Zealand where she was to be induced at 33 weeks to be able to undergo 12 hours of surgery to remove half of her tongue where the tumor was, also all the lymph nodes in her neck and then have her tongue replaced by a flap of skin and an artery taken from her left arm, and a skin graft taken from her stomach to cover it. Since surgery she now has a trackie an NG tube in to help with recovery, herself an son are still in hospital until she is well enough to be discharged. She will have to travel every week to undergo Physiotherapy for her shoulder an neck so she can learn to move them properly again, Speech therapy to learn to talk, eat and drink again and possible Radiation for 6 weeks just to make sure that they have killed off all the Cancer an its gone from her body. She has a long road to recovery on top of being a brand new Mother to her and Mitch's new baby Phelix. Please donate to a great cause.
