In recent weeks and months, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of families seeking refuge in Europe after fleeing their homeland to escape violence and unrest in countries such as Syria and Iraq. Millions of people have been displaced since the Syrian crisis began more than five years ago.

Many refugees are in need of support and Red Cross has been responding by providing refugees with essential relief items such as food and water, as well as first aid.
