Westpac Helicopter Adventure Ride 2015

Starting on the 28th of February, I am aiming to complete a 4000km cycle ride across both islands. Starting in Auckland, I intend to make a bee-line to the South island, where the bulk of my time will be spent exploring the remote alpine scenery. I shall then return to Auckland. I aim to complete the journey in 40-50 days, back in time for graduation in Auckland. This will be a solo unsupported tour, using only pedal power (if all goes to plan).

I have always wanted to explore on a bicycle, it is my passion in life and I thought it was high time to get on and get out there. So, what better way to do it than in the name of a charity?

I have decided to set up this fundraiser for the Westpac Helicopter Service Charity and undertake my cycle tour under its name. The Westpac helicopter saves lives on a daily basis, yet the government funding continues to decline. It is a free service and relies heavily on public donations to operate. Your donation to this vital service is greatly appreciated.
