I've had diabetes for almost 18 years now and it has had a significant impact on my life. Good or bad, with the highs and lows (yes literally haha) it has taught me a lot. I have decided to give back to the diabetes community and especially to the amazing Chasing a Cure for Type 1 Diabetes organisation. They have done incredible work in the past few years.. SO...I have decided to enter the Devonport classic run and will train to hopefully complete the 25km race. I will post weekly updates on my training progress and I am very excited to be able to share my journey with everyone.

Wow I can't believe time has creeped up on me like this. I am super nervous, but also very excited and determined. Training has been going well, except for the past week as I got sick, but still managed to fit in some light exercise here and there. I had a great weekend celebrating my birthday and had lots of treats, but back on track now. this week is crucial so I'm concentrating on my nutrition and just getting healthy so that I feel energised next week! this weekend I will be another boot camp and probably the last one. Weather hasn't been on our side but I appreciate all the support so much.

I received my running pack this morning and it was a big wake up call and had millions of butterflies. I have a crazy busy schedule leading up to the race (what's new in the life of suz haha), but planning will get me through and probably adrenaline :)
