The reciprocal tour is an exchange programme between the Auckland District RSA Youth Council and the New South Wales RSL Youth clubs.
Auckland
Reciprocal tours were conceived by two former prisoners of war, the late Brian Sexton of Papakura RSA and the late Harry Barnes of the Hornsby RSL more than forty years ago. The aim and purpose of the tours is to further develop our common shared heritage, set ideals and build new and everlasting friendships between us by the means of our youth, the future of our respective countries and organisations.
The reciprocal tours strengthen and broaden the outlook of youth and youth clubs in each country.
We hope to raise enough to cover the costs of uniforms, camps and air flights.
We would like to send 30 x youths 15-17ys to participate in ANZAC events in Sydney 2016. They take part in 3 camps to develop a concert to perform to RSLs and Veteran Homes in NSW. They will be part of the Sydney ANZAC day parade. They will visit significant heritage sites and be billeted by RSL families in Australia.
