We need YOUR help to continue to provide support and education for women affected by domestic violence and abuse.
Auckland
In New Zealand there are approximately 2 million women aged 15 years+. We want to be able to let these women know about the amazing new App we've designed.
The 1 in 3 Be Free App is designed to help women screen their relationships for all forms of domestic abuse and connect them with support services in their region of NZ (should they need it).
The App is an educational tool to help women understand the types of behaviours that can be abusive, how these behaviours can present themselves in relationships and how to get the help they need.
The name 1 in 3 Be Free is based on the statistic that one in three women in New Zealand will experience an act of physical and/or sexual abuse from a partner or ex partner during their lifetime.
The more women who know about the 1 in 3 Be Free App the better. We want this tool to be a go-to resource for women all over New Zealand who may be concerned about their own relationship or that of someone they care about.
We have received no funding for the development of the 1 in 3 Be Free App. It is our gift to New Zealand. We are a small not-for-profit organisation and we're reaching out to people who are equally passionate about eliminating violence against women in New Zealand.
We hope you can support this fundraising appeal. The donation you make to ICWG will help us create and send out promo packs to organisations all over NZ. It will also support the ongoing maintenance and development of the App.
Additionally, your donation will help us continue to support around 1000 women each year who access our programmes. All donations will be much appreciated!
Please visit www.1in3befree.org.nz for more information about the App, and www.innercitywomensgroup.org.nz to find out more about who we are and what we specialise in.
This cause is designed by Inner City Women's Group, to help us continue to provide support and education for women affected by domestic violence and abuse, through our programmes and the 1 in 3 Be Free App.
Inner City Women's Group has supported women, especially those affected by domestic violence, since 1988. ICWG has branches in Auckland Central and Papatoetoe, providing programmes in other community-based venues across Auckland.
