"2 years to live" is not the story Cat Thorburn will tell

In March of 2022 Cat’s oncologist confirmed not only that her Cancer had returned but gave her the devastating prognosis of 2 years left to live. Cat is determined to keep living her best life for as long as possible. Cat Thorburn is a fiercely loyal friend, sister and daughter. She is a dedicated wife to Nathan, with whom she owns and runs a business, and an incredible mother to her two children, Harlan (9) and Kahlia (6). She wants to see her children grow up and to grow old with Nathan.

First diagnosed with Breast Cancer at 35 in 2018 Cat endured everything from chemo to radiation and finally a double mastectomy and in 2019 was pronounced "cancer free". Unfortunately this status was short lived; an ultrasound earlier this year revealed that her cancer had returned and metastasized to her bones and liver. This diagnosis was a devastating blow to her, her family, and everyone who knows and adores her.

The cost of cancer to a family is an iceberg, many of us have never considered just how quickly everything adds up. The people who love Cat want to do whatever we can to lighten this load. We are fundraising to contribute to her expenses so that she has a fighting chance to live beyond expectations and to live well. Cat is positive, she has a plan that she believes in and has a lot of living left to do. Staying alive long enough for this to be managed as a chronic illness is her number one goal.
