2019 Nelson bush fires destroying property and forcing evacuations
Help our Nelson bush fire victims get back on their feet and keep our Emergency Services teams prepared for future disasters across NZ

The national response effort to the current Nelson bush fires have shown the world how supportive and tough our New Zealand community and volunteers are in the face of adversity. Property and homes have either been destroyed/damaged, thousands of residents have been evacuated and a state of emergency has been declared.
Our goal is to raise as much money as we can to distribute to our bush fire victims and our Emergency Services volunteer groups. Every donation received, no matter how great or small will be immensely appreciated by the below recipients. We wanted to set a page up for those who are not able to physically be in Nelson helping out at this time but wanted to contribute in some way towards getting this region back on their feet and recognising the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers.
100% of the money raised on this page and paid out by Givealittle will be distributed to our bush fire victims who do not know yet what they will be returning to over coming days as well as to our various NZ Emergency Services groups whose volunteers dropped everything, left the comfort of their own homes, families and jobs behind to travel to the South Island to help with the enormous relief and rescue effort we have witnessed. Money that will help them restock their equipment resources used this week, enabling them to stay prepared for our next national emergency or disaster in New Zealand.
We encourage you to please dig deep and let's stand strong behind the people who need it the most and those who have given up the most to be there for others in their greatest time of need.

New Zealand Emergency Services Solutions is also a registered Charity (CC53383) that provides funding assistance, donated items and thousands of volunteer hours to our local emergency services groups and volunteer organisations such as Fire and Emergency NZ, Coastguard, Red Cross, Victim Support, Land Search and Rescue and our Rescue helicopters. Our most recent fundraising campaign in Nov/Dec 2018 saw us raise thousands of dollars to enable us to purchase and deliver Emergency Grab n Go survival bags to the residents from over 150 flood ravaged houses in and around the Rotorua/Ngongotaha area, ensuring our community are much better prepared for their next emergency. We also design youth programmes that give our Kiwi kids the courage and support to be able to achieve anything they want in life. Our driving force and passion is really simple - to help others when they need it the most. Now is the time to support the Tasman/Nelson Area.
Use of funds

Kia ora friends and generous donors
We wanted to provide you a final update on how your hard earned dollars will be shared when your Givealittle donations are paid into our account this Friday.
In our last page update, we gave our donors a voice calling for nominations on where your dollars should be spread. We then canvassed many Tasman and Nelson locals over the past few weeks to find out which organisations were heavily invested throughout the Nelson Fires asking for their local community to also nominate groups for a donation.

and the Tasman District Council's Mayoral Disaster Relief Fund who are currently processing applications received from locals directly affected by these fires.
A total of $28,375.80 came from 405 generous donations to our page.
Net funds of $27,311.51 will soon be paid out by Givealittle allowing us to pass on 100% of these generous donations to so many people and deserving organisations early next week.
