Anaru's Wish

Anaru is a very happy little boy who is always smiling, he loves life and all thing in it! Anaru has 4 younger brothers.

Anaru should be riding bikes, running around & playing, just like any little boy. Unfortunately Anaru has lost the muscle in his legs, and can now only crawl around, and stand if holding on to something, he is nearly wheelchair bound.

He dreams of being a motorbike rider when he gets older, but unfortunately Anaru's dreams won't be coming true as he has Duchenne muscular Dystrophy which means he will never get to do what most kids can do like kick a ball, climb trees, or run around playing, all the things little kids do.

We would love to take Anaru and his brothers for a holiday, maybe in the snow while he is still able to join in.

Muscular Dystrophy Duchenne (pronounced: due-shen) affects 1 in 3600 males, which results in muscle degeneration & eventual death.

Most boys are wheelchair dependant by the age of 12.

Due to progressive deterioration of muscle, loss of movement occurs, eventually leading to paralysis.
