Help our shelter dogs who need more extensive treatments before finding their new forever homes
Wellington
We have multiple dogs come in to our care who find themselves looking for new homes. Often these dogs come to our attention through no fault of their own. All dogs are temperament & basic health tested prior to being placed up for adoption.
From time to time some of these dogs need more extensive & at times costly treatments (such as a dental, ultrasound, cruciate repair surgery etc). These treatments need to be arranged and paid for before the dog is able to be placed up for adoption.
We are lucky to be able to call on our local SPCA or HUHANZ to assist with some of these cases, but they too have a huge number of vet bills each month for their own dogs. For that reason, we'd really love to be able to take the burden off other charities who are already struggling, and raise funds to fix our shelter dogs ourselves!
Our team at Hutt City Council Animal Services run the dog shelters for Lower Hutt, Wellington & we also care for & rehome dogs for Upper Hutt Council.
We are committed to finding great homes for as many dogs as we can.
Any/all funds raised will be used to cover treatments for dogs in our care - be it surgery, an ultrasound, a dental, or special drugs etc.
Standard adoption costs will still cover vaccinations, microchip and de sexing.
