Help Belinda get more independence outdoors on a customised bike
Nationwide
Belinda Edwards was born with spina bifida, and completely lost the use of her legs at the age of 15. She’s been in a wheelchair ever since, and now she needs a hand to help pay for a bit more independence.
As the team leader for client services at Massey University’s Albany Recreation Centre, Belinda enjoys being active. She wants to train to do a marathon, and to do that, she needs a new bike – one that will give her independence to cover big distances and get a bit of freedom.
She’s done the hard work – found the best bike to suit her, and now she needs to raise $12,000 to pay for the bike and a frame so she can transport it on her car.
Belinda has already worked hard to fundraise for the bike – she set up a movie night to watch the first Hobbit movie, and held a quiz night and auction. She’s also been saving hard to set up her own home in Red Beach – one that is fully adapted for her own use.
Help Belinda gain more independence, and get into training for that marathon. She’s determined, focused and is able to accomplish anything. Just don’t tell her she’s amaaaaaazing!
