Most of you will have landed here because you know me and my story. I am so grateful for the support that you have offered me through messages, phone calls, emails and practical assistance. Now is your chance to go that step further and contribute your latte money, your slush fund, your trust fund... I'd prefer you left your kids inheritance intact - I've already spent mine and the guilt from that is enough to live with!!! :-)

The short version is that I am a New Zealand International dressage rider. I have represented New Zealand on a couple of occasions, including riding in the New Zealand team at the Olympic selection trials. I didn't make it to the London Olympics and now I have moved my entire family (husband, 2 kids, the dog and a horse) to the UK in pursuit of fulfilling that goal. Unfortunately things haven't quite gone to plan with my Rio prospect horse going lame shortly after arriving. There is a chance he may return to top level competition however time is running out and Rio is looking unlikely. Therefore I need a plan B.

Plan B's are exceedingly expensive and we literally sold the farm to make the shift. We have very little left after shifting, buying the necessary equipment and vehicles to set up here, living for a year with little income and of course the vet bills. While we do have some people willing to step up and help, we're going to need everything we can get our hands on to buy a suitable replacement and keep and campaign it towards team selection.

This is your chance to be a very real part of that dream. The money you donate will be put towards me purchasing shares in a limited liability company that we are setting up to purchase a horse for me to ride. The company intends to operate for just two years, on sell the horse (hopefully for a tidy profit) and then wind up. If you have more than $600 to donate (OMG - THANK YOU!) and would like to have an opportunity to make some profit on that then get in touch with me personally and I will let you know how to purchase shares in your own name.

In return for your donation you will be invited to join a private Facebook group where I will share regular updates about the journey - photos, blogs, videos and you will be encouraged to actively take part and feel part of everything we do.

The $6000 is a nominal amount, being the equivalent of 300 shares. If we raise more, I just get to own more of the horse I ride. Rest assured every single cent you donate will go towards this cause, and this cause only.

I do feel a little bit odd putting such a request for support out publicly, but if you don't give it everything you've got, follow every opportunity available to you, then you'll never know what you're capable of achieving. And let's face it, I'm more Divergent than Abnegation. (If you don't understand the reference, you clearly don't have teenagers.)
