Courage is a lovely cat with a heartwarming story of overcoming abuse and learning to love again
Nationwide
Courage came into us, rescued from a situation where she was getting whacked with a broom because she had become pregnant and was no longer wanted by her "owner"
She gave birth to 11 kittens, however sadly only 5 survived. We don't know if that was due to the abuse she suffered while she was pregnant.
However, the next day, we heard about 4 wee orphan ginger kittens, less than a week old, still with their eyes shut, that had been found, so they were brought into us.
They were very dehydrated so we gave them some fluids then put them with Courage to see if she would take them on.
She was so happy to add these wee orphans to her brood that she was pulling them out of our hands before we could let go! Immediately giving them good cleans and letting them nurse, purring all the time.
We think Courage is just a superhero of a mumma cat. She is so loving and tender with all her kittens. We really believe she thinks those 4 orphan kittens were her own stillborn kittens brought back to life.
She is such a lovely girl and once she is done with her mothering duties, we'll get her desexed and find her a loving new home.
All our kittens are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, vet checked, flea and worm treated, and toilet trained before being adopted to new homes.
