Jump for Joy

Although Joy is my mother-in-law, she is like a second mother to me, she has accepted me into her family with open arms so I wanted to do something that let's her know we are there for her and that we appreciate her very much! It's nice to do something for someone that does a lot for every one else.

When Joy went to work in June 2013 she never thought her life was about to get physically harder. Every corner of her life is and has been affected. Joy seriously hurt her back and is now struggling with the unbearable result. After numerous visits to the doctor, hospitals and even specialists, resulting in serious medication, she is still suffering from extreme pain. It has been over a year now and Joy is in no better place. She is unable to look after her grandchildren due to not being able to lift anything, or bend over. Luckily enough for Joy she lives with her amazing husband along with their son, without being able to rely on them she wouldn't have a clean house, dinner on the table and no physical or emotional support!

After communicating back and forth with ACC over the past year, all she has received is a mountain of paper work and absolutely NO support from them! ACC is refusing to pay anything!! Unfortunately she now has the hard task of coming up with over $6000 to fund the long recovery period she will have after surgery, with the added expense of doctors and specialist fees from the past year and the future appointments on top of that! Joy frequently has unpaid time off due to her restricting mobility and unbearable pain. Please help her to get back on her feet and start living again. Although she is one of the strongest woman I know, this injury has taken such a toll on her strength and health, it makes me sick to think that as New Zealanders we pay a percentage of our weekly income for this exact reason, but yet ACC have turned their backs and has made her fend for her self.

Now it's our turn to stand up for her when she needs help most, if ACC won't help her then WE WILL! This is what family and being a NEW ZEALANDER is all about!! We take pride in our family and we never leave a solider behind, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help her journey back to normality be less of a rough ride, and show her that we can and will link arms, unite and concur this battle together!

I can't explain how appreciative we are as a family to have help from others. We will be forever thankful. We sincerely appreciate every bit of financial and emotional support we can get.
