Marcela's battling a brain tumour

Marcela has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and raise funds to help support her and her family of an uncertain future.

Nationwide

Marcela is a mother of three children whose only wish is to spend more time with her husband, Ronald and their family. Diagnosed with a brain tumour in the past week (late Nov 2014) her best chance of life is dependent on an urgent operation to remove the tumour.

Ronald, Marcela and their family are originally from Uruquay. They both work legally in New Zealand and pay taxes.

Hope for Marcela comes in the form of an urgent operation required to remove the tumour. First she needs to make it to the operation. She is at risk of blood clots, heart attack, seizures and epilepsy. If she is able to have this procedure, and the tumour is not malignant, Marcela's recovery may be long with her having memory loss and having to relearn her motor skills such as walking again.

We are fundraising for Marcela, Ronald and their three children, to give them some hope and assistance for their uncertain future. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Update for 28/11/2014  28 November 2014

We have good news! The hospital has come back with a date for Marcela's operation to remove the tumour. She is scheduled to be admitted into hospital on Tuesday 2 December, with the operation to take place on Wednesday 3 December. At this stage we have no idea whether this operation is going to be funded by the Ministry of Health for the $50,000 plus required. There may have to be a payment plan to reimburse the hospital by Marcela and her family. These details are not confirmed. Regardless of whether the operation is covered by the Ministry of Health, funds will still be required for Marcela's rehabilitation. Marcela and her family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and generosity, it is very much appreciated. They have been very touched by family, friends, the caring community of Matamata, New Zealand and those abroad.
