Miles for smiles

The marathon provides the perfect opportunity to increase my fitness, lose weight and raise money for 4 local charities that I have had the privilege of supporting in my role as the MP for Maungakiekie.

The 4 local charities I am running for are;

New Zealand Riding for the Disabled Association - a charitable organisation which provides opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy safe, therapeutic horse riding and horse-related activities

The Seasons Programme - Onehunga, which provides peer support for children and young people experiencing change, grief and loss.

Maungarei Christian Trust - provides support to the residents of the Mt Wellington/Panmure area through a number of services and events such as their extremely popular Light Party held every year in Mt Wellington.

Te Papapa Early Childhood Centre - opened earlier this year, this ECE will use funds raised for additional resources and services for the families that attend.
