Bay of Plenty
Entering lock down to protect our family here in New Zealand was a very scary time, as it was for most. But my sister could never have prepared for what was to come.
It all started in the first week of lock down (March 2020), her partner Cole was getting chills n fevers. They took him urgently to hospital to find out what was going on. Testing went on for months. Clearly this wasn't COVID, but this medical mystery was scary none the less.
It wasn't until the 8th of June that the final diagnosis came in. Cole, at the age of 37, was diagnosed with Panicallins T-Cell Lymphoma level 4, which a form of blood cancer. As you can imagine this news has shocked us.
They try and remain positive, taken on board everything the medical specialists say and embracing whatever they need to do for his treatment. The reality though is that he cannot work, and as his partner, my sister is considering leaving her employment too to be able to care for him however she can.
Asking for help isn't in their nature, but any support people can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I am her sister hoping to give them both a helping hand as they both would for anyone,
To help cover the necessities. Just to help from day to day care.
