Hi Sonja, it is heart breaking news to hear of Jarrod's passing my heartfelt sympathy is with his family and friends. I didn't know Jarrod that well, but in 2016 his kids attended Rawhiti School and Xavier and my son become friends. At first I think Jarrod avoided speaking to me perhaps he thought I would judge him or not think he's good enough, as I am sure many people who fit my description would, but I didn't I wanted to get to know him especially since our kids become friends, so I took upon myself to make an effort to smile and eventually him and his mother spoke to me and I did get to know them albeit brieftly, it was sad for us when they moved away. He was a wonderful Dad, they were both so lovely and have left an impression on me, so when I heard the news eariler this year I was devasted and I wanted to call by and show my support and love, but unfortuantely the only contact number I had for Jarrod didn't work anymore, I contemplated calling by their house in Woolston where I had once picked up Xavier for Heath's birthday party, but I felt I didn't know them well enough to just stop by unannounced if they still lived there, I now wish I had at least tried. I would have attended his service too had I known. Do you know how I can pay my respect to his family, is his mother well? and are the kids still in Christchurch? I would love to show the family I care in some way however small. I understand there are people from Jarrod's past they you may not trust, but I am not one of them. My name is Kim Hammond, I am Heath's mum from Rawhiti School, Linda and Xavier may remember me, I am short, long dark hair and when they know me had three preschoolers, one of which is now at school. My deepest sympathy, Kim - 021 027 59416 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
