Adventures in Europe

Hi, my name is Amanda Monk, I'm 25 years old and I live in Whakatane.

I am a downhill racer who has made the change to elite women last year. Ever since I took up downhill mountain biking nearly 4 years ago it has been my dream to race overseas and represent New Zealand at an international level.

I am planning on heading over to the final World cup round at Val Di Sole, Italy at the end of August 2015 from there I have been selected to represent New Zealand at the World Championships in Vallnord, Andorra on 31 August-6 September.

As most of you will know, it is not cheap getting overseas, let alone travelling and racing. Which is why I have started this page. After using all my savings and selling a few things I am still in need of funds to make this dream a reality. And with no support financially from CyclingNZ, the pressure is on to acquire the money to complete this trip. The money raised will go towards my flights, accommodation, insurances, race entry, bike maintenance and general living. Having this money will take the stress, and uncertainty off my back, and allow me to fulfil my dreams.
