New drugs Cetuximab and Encorafenib are pricey! So I need your help! Thank you all.
Nationwide
Hey everyone!
My name is Andrew and I am fighting Stage Four Bowel Cancer... which sucks.
SO ... due to the success of my last Givealittle page started up last year by my dear friend Janine, I thought I would start another one to help fund my next round of Avastin. Thankfully I no longer have to pay for the drug itself but unfortunately due to the lack of funding for PHARMAC in New Zealand, I still have to pay for a private hospital to administer the drug.
I have no doubt that Avastin, working alongside my chemotherapy has been successful in keeping my cancer at bay, so much so that I have recently had a 2nd surgery to re-attatch my bowels and remove my stoma. (I am very happy to be using my butt again). These successes in my battle would not have been possible without the generous donations received last year.
My family and I are eternally grateful for your help. All funds received from this page go directly towards my treatment and nowhere else.
Thank you all so very much.
Lots of Love
Andrew

All funds will be used to pay for my treatment and nothing else.
Update about Andrew 30 November 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew John Speir at 9.50pm on Wednesday 24th November 2021 from complications attributing to his diagnoses of stage 4 metastatic Bowel Cancer in late 2019. His family was by his side the whole way. We simply cannot put into words how incredibly missed he will be as a son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.
We would like to thank everybody for your very generous donations to help fund Andrew's cancer treatment. Because of your kindness, we were able to have 2 incredible years with him. They were filled with moments of difficulty and sadness as we saw Andrew struggle with his illness, although in true Andrew fashion, he never complained. Most importantly, we were able to have time to create cherished memories, including him being able to meet his niece Elliot who he adored so much.
As most of you know, Andrew was a strong advocate for better funding of cancer treatments. He has requested that any money left over from this fund be donated to that cause so that in future, people will not be put in the same position he was.
Once again, thank you.
