Our daughter Ariana Lawn suffers from spastic dystonic cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Due to this she has severe physical developmental delay and is unable to walk unaided, stiffness of her muscles, suffers from painful muscle spasms as night contributing to difficulties sleeping. The stiffness in her legs is causing permanent damage to her hips and spine.
She recently has been accepted for Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery at St Louis Children’s Hospital in the United States of America. This is a neurosurgical procedure to the spine that reduces spinal and hip deformity, reduces muscle pain and improves independent walking. This involves us travelling to America for 4 weeks.
We need to fundraise $100,000 New Zealand dollars for Ariana to have this life changing surgery. This includes the procedure, flights to and from America and the rehabilitation following surgery.
If you could contribute to help us get our daughter to America we would be forever grateful.
