Fundraising to support Chelsea in her battle against Breast Cancer.
Wellington
Our dear friend (and life of the party) Chelsea was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on 2 December 2020 at the age of 38. This page is dedicated to supporting Chelsea, her husband Adam and children Marco and Zoe as they make their way through this next unexpected chapter.
Chelsea has a long journey ahead of her. She has already begun chemotherapy and will be continuing this for the next 6 months, before potentially looking at surgery and even radiation.
Chelsea's doctor has offered them the option of treatment which has an extra 15% success rate, but unfortunately is not funded by the government. This is at a cost of $30,000. The insurance company will cover $10,000, but the Bertos Family will need to come up with the additional $20,000 themselves.
As we all know - Chelsea is one hell of a fighter, but we want to be able to support her in fundraising for this cost to give her the best possible chance at kicking cancers ass. Chelsea is kind, loyal, generous and always has everyone's back, and now it is time for us to show her that we have hers.
A number of F45 Porirua Members and community have signed up to complete the Bluebridge 10km run/walk at Around the Bays on Sunday 21 February 2021. We ask that you join us in the battle with Chels and sponsor us to do so!
You got this Chels and we've got you! <3

$20,000 for cancer treatment drugs and $5,000 for a wig.
THANK YOU! 22 February 2021
We did it! 53 amazing people completed the 10km around the bays yesterday for our girl Chels. Highlight was having her there at the finish line!
Thank you all SO SO much for your support and donations. The money raised will be a huge help for the Bertos Family.
Keep an eye out for the next event 'Rise up for Chelsea' if you want to get involved!
