Baby Arwen was hospitalised with parovirus despite being vaccinated and the vet bill is $10,000 and is not covered by her insurance.
Auckland
Arwen is a gorgeous wee swiss shepherd who is 5 months old. She arrived with Megan and Rosh and her brother King and sister Rae when she was 8 weeks old and was a cheeky, adventurous pup. 3 weeks ago Arwen became extremely unwell with parvovirus - despite being immunised for this. She required hospitalisation for almost 2 weeks in which she had IV fluids, and an NG tube amounting to $10, 000. She lost a lot of weight and a few times showed signs she might not make it. She has miraculously pulled through and is now making a slow recovery at home. Her parents Megan and Rosh are absolute animal lovers and take amazing care of their furry children. Despite having pet insurance the insurance has refused to pay out as she is young and is in a 'stand down period' where they wont cover something that happens within 21 days of starting the insurance ( she JUST missed this cut off). Megan and Rosh are doing everything to help their wee girl including taking out a loan and selling their car for money.
We are friends of theirs who have know them through our dog meet up group and just wanting to help where we can!
