Auto Immune Treatment for Julia

Julia is a wonderful mother, a beautiful grandmother, a loving sister, a special aunt and a dear friend to many, who has spent her life and continues to do so in helping others, she has always put other’s needs before her own and if you have ever had the privilege of knowing her you would know you have met an amazingly strong woman who makes a difference in this world and in other people’s lives. Julia has battled with cancer for several years and is now facing the biggest battle in her life as the cancer has now returned aggressively.

Unfortunately Julia’s options are limited, with the best available option costing an estimated $98,324. the drug Julia needs, Pembrolizumab (Keytruda) is not publicly funded in New Zealand but is a staple in the fight against cancer around the world. Pharmac, along with our government hope that this will be funded by end of this year or mid-2020. However, we do not have the luxury of waiting for our government to decide whether they will fund this treatment Julia needs.
