Collaboration fundraiser for those affected by the flooding of Mōkau & Awakino rivers. Donate to support those completing the walk here.

Overnight of Tuesday 14 October our little community experienced some of the heaviest rainfall ever and it really hit us hard.
While the rain has stopped and the sun is out (for now…) the clean up is far from over and some of our residents are unable to return home for a while.
A lot of people have been asking and wanting to help but don’t know how or where to start…..
So
We’re throwing an ‘Awakino Floods Community Walk Fundraiser’ and we’re aiming to raise $10,000!!
There are lots of ways to be involved, anyone can participate and it’s a really cool way to BRING our AWESOME COMMUNITY together!!

THS operates the Mōkau Museum & Art Gallery with the vision to create a space that inspires generations to explore history and make meaningful connections

All funds raised on this page will be passed on to those affected by the flooding 14 October 2025 in collaboration with Mōkau Community Trust.

Wow!!
We counted up all the donation boxes around town!
And guess what??
We’re SOOOOOO CLOSE with our walk tomorrow and the last of the donations coming in…..
🤩 $8350 is our total so far! 🤩
THANK YOU all the local Businesses that got behind our community walk and everyone who donated into one of the buckets around town!!
Special mention to Ma’s place with the most donations closely followed by Awakino Hotel and Mōkau Butchery 🤩
Everyone’s contribution is very much appreciated and welcomed by those we are helping ☺️
