Help me to attend the Boy's Ballet Summer School in Sydney, and Winter School at the NZ School of Dance.
Please help me to pay for my fees and travel expenses eg. bus, train and airfares, so I can attend the Boy's Ballet Summer School at Shore School in Sydney, this coming summer, and Winter School at the New Zealand School of Dance.
The Boy's Ballet Summer School has been a big help learning male technique. I have been over for last two summers and it has such an amazing experience. It is an all boys summer school which concentrates on ballet, contemporary and jazz dance, for boys. To be with other boys who love to dance and to be taught by very experienced and talented male teachers, I learnt so much and made some brilliant friends.
I also plan to go to Winter School at the New Zealand School of Dance which will be a great week of concentrating on ballet and some contemporary dance.
I have been dancing since before I was three years old, I love it, but it hasn't always been easy for me as I have Aspergers Syndrome which has made understanding what teachers are saying quite hard for me at times. But I have practiced heaps and really concentrated hard to get where I am today. Just spending time at the boy's summer school has improved me as a dancer and has given me loads of inspiration as I also choreograph all my own dances which I perform in competitions.
Having Aspergers, to me, is a gift, I see dance and movement differently and it comes out in my choreographies which are often called quirky and unique. I also think it helps me to teach other kids as I am able to explain things a bit differently. I love teaching and sharing my love of dance. I would love to eventually have my own school and have specialist boys classes.
I want to learn as much as I can so I can achieve my goals of becoming a professional dancer and to share my passion for dance.

My name is Salem Foxx, I'm 15 years old and I am a ballet dancer. I have been dancing since before I was 3 years old and I just love it.
Along with ballet, I also do jazz, contemporary, lyrical, acrobatic dance and have added tap to my list :-) I am working hard at my goal of having a career as a ballet dancer in a company either here in NZ or overseas. I also want to eventually work as a choreographer and my BIG BIG dream is to have my own ballet school one day and to provide specialist boys technique classes. I hope to encourage other boys to at least try ballet and really see how much strength a male dancer has/needs. And that ballet is not just for the girls.
I go to "Hayley Johnson Academy of Dancing" and "L Dance Studio" which are both in Tawa. I practice six days a week for at least 2 hours on top of all my dance lessons, I love assisting with teaching ballet in the lower grades and am doing some one on one teaching.
I have Aspergers Syndrome, which can make things a little harder for me, so I try even harder to reach my goals, makes it so much more rewarding when I do get there.
I attend as many ballet intensives as I can and do odd jobs around the neighbourhood to pay my way.
Recently I have been awarded the ANCA International Naturally Autistic People's Award for "Performing Arts - Youth" and the New Zealand Attitude Award for "Artistic Achievement". In 2014, I won the Wellington Pride Awards "Senior Creative Achievement and Innovation" Award, and the Kapiti Shout Out Youth Award for "Expression".
I did three big exams last year, for two jazz exams I received 96% and for my contemporary 100%. My last ballet exam was a 96% pass. I was also nominated for NZAMD scholarship for contemporary.
Funds will be paid to a verified bank account of Salem Foxx.
