Banfield’s of Beckenham - In memory of Mark Banfield

$1,779 of $5,000 goal

Jake, Patsy and Emily need our support! Its our time as a community to give back to the Banfield’s!!

Canterbury

On the 4th June this year my friend Jake, his mum Patsy, and sister Emily lost their dad/ life partner.

This has had a devastating effect on the family and the wider community.

Mark Banfield served the people of Beckenham, in Christchurch, for over 25 years being the owner and operator of Banfeild’s of Beckenham - a well known local organic butchery. Mark was known for his quirks, enthusiasm and generosity within the community. The people of Christchurch would come from far and wide, not only for good quality meat but to see him personally, he was a cut above the rest!

Since Marks death, his family have experienced financial pressure, now that the shop is closed. This has taken its toll on the family as they try to navigate their way through their enormous grief.

I will also be running the 12km traverse in the Auckland Marathon series on October 20th 2019 in honour of Mark and in support of NZ mental health.

Use of funds

The money donated will help support the families on-going finances and if we reach our target it could see Jake take his mum and sister on a well deserved holiday!
