Help fight the good fight with some dosh towards helping start a Dunedin Beneficiary Advocacy Service &/or a Working-class Little Library.
Otago
Instead of 50th birthday gifts I'd love it if you could donate a wee something to a couple of projects I've been working on and off on, as this would be the perfect impetus to get stuck in and make them happen:
- Beneficiary Advocacy Service
- Working-class Little Library
Dunedin Beneficiary Advocacy Service
WINZ/StudyLink bureaucracy still abounds with ever-increasing rules and high-jumps, meaning many people don't always get their full entitlement. Often these people need some free, un-judgemental, and occasionally assertive advocacy. But Dunedin has no specialist advocacy service for beneficiaries --and that's where a team of volunteers I hope to set-up comes in.
Working-class/Lefty Little Library
Fairly self explanatory, enough books have already been collected, and all that needs done is building either several little libraries, and finalizing their locations etc, or potentially even a reading room if a suitable venue can be found. Likewise feel free to offer building materials, labour, and art skills etc. Or super cheap rent in a disused shop or similar if you happen to know someone with one lying around
Both of the projects may get finished and be great successes, or maybe only one might, or none might; you know the deal - you've put up with me for enough years to know the risks  XX
Funds to be used towards creation of a Beneficiary Advocacy Service and/or a Working-class/Lefty Little Library. Should not all of the funds not be used trying to establish either they will be used for projects with similar aims at my discretion.
