School Tour 2021
Northland
Kiwi Kids are struggling with lots of Big Feelings, with worry and Anxiety on the rise.
Self harm is starting at primary school, and our teen suicide rates doesn't seem to be declining.
The Big Feelings School Tour and Tractor Trek is all about Mental Health education in schools.
So far, over 13,000 children in 80 schools from Bluff to Cape Reinga have had a visit from the Big Feelings School tour.
These school talks including the giant blue zorb and mood cube were given rave reviews from the School Principals during the March 2020 Trek, with the common message that every school in New Zealand should have this presentation.
So that's our goal!
March 2021 we toured Bluff to New Plymouth.
2021 Cat toured Waikato Schools.
February 2021 we toured Northland with a fleet of 17 tractors, 2 humvees, world war 2 jeep, Postman pat van, and even a tank BBQ. Our goal is to visit 20+ schools, with 40+ presentations to 6,000 children!
In 2 weeks Cat did 40 presentations at 20 schools, speaking to over 5,000 children.
Schools can be as small as 9 children, or over 500 children.
After the 25 minute presentation on "Big Feelings" we give each child a Mood Cube, as a way for them to develop emotional literacy and empathy, and learning how to talk about their feelings.
Our tractor drivers and support crew not only take 2 weeks off work, but they also pay for their own accommodation, and expenses along the way.
Our next trek is planned for February 2022 from Whanganui across to Gisborne.
Would you partner with us by sponsoring a child, a class or a school so each child can receive a Mood Cube to help talk about their feelings, building empathy and resilience?
