Boost the Renters United Election Campaign: Fair Rents Now!
Chip in for our Fair Rents Now! campaign put renters voicers in the spotlight this election and get rents under control.

Across the country, rents are rising uncontrollably, with over a quarter of renters spending more than 40% of their income on rent. This is pushing the more than 2 million New Zealanders who rent into financial hardship, homelessness and debt.
Now as we face the recession brought about by COVID-19, where incomes have dropped and rents remain the same, we need urgent action to stop this crisis from getting worse.
That’s why we ask you to support our election campaign ‘Fair Rents Now!’.
With the funds from this crowdfunder, we will be able to mobilise hundreds of people around the country to put the call for fair rents into the spotlight this election.
We need to ensure the voice of renters is heard above well-funded property investment groups.
Renters United has been entirely volunteer run and funded by supporter contributions since it was founded in 2015. To be able to make the voice of renters the loudest this election and make our plan to make housing affordable at the core of the election debate, we need your support. Please chip in today.

Use of funds
Funds will be used to fund our campaign, including running events, mobilising volunteers, developing resources for voters and funding a part-time staff member. Any surplus will be used for the ongoing financial stability of Renters United.

We wanted to send you a message to say thank you so much for your generous koha to our Fair Rents Now campaign. Your donation is already helping us to mobilise volunteers, plan our campaign and hire our first paid staff member.
Because the election has been delayed, we have extended our crowdfunded a further 2 weeks. Please share this crowdfunder with anyone who you think may be able to chip in to help us reach our goal (we are so close!)
We also wanted to let you know that tomorrow we will officially launching our Fair Rent Now! campaign, kicking off with an open letter to current and future Members of Parliament, calling for action.
