Bring Back The Spirit Of Christmas For all Families

The Jackson Street Programme appreciates that Christmas is an expensive time of year, especially for a struggling family. With all the donations we collect, sponsorships and goodwill, we are able to give back.

The Old Jail Museum is transformed into an entertaining interactive Christmas Grotto where children’s dreams are explored beyond their imaginations.

Travel to Petone for the day to check out this year's theme, Kiwiana, and keep our elves on their toes as the people of all ages go exploring. Once the Grotto has been explored, the children are able to meet Santa and you're welcome to take photos.

A designated room within Santa’s Grotto is set up for Women’s Refuge, where unwrapped presents are left from caring strangers. We hear the children ask why do we leave presents here? While they are given an explanation our heart breaks with joy by the generosity of the community for this cause every year.

In the weekends, parents, caregivers or grandparents head off down Jackson Street in the sunshine on a FREE Treasure Hunt.

The kids enjoy spending time writing letters to Santa and post them in the Santa’s red mailbox outside 274b Jackson Street, Petone (no stamp required). Santa writes back to every letter, so make sure you include a return address!

Unfortunately, every year we face the same problem - funding. While we are actively asking businesses to contribute and donate, we need your help to make our efforts go even further!
